Using eidetic
These terms apply between you and Brandon Jones, the publisher of eidetic, when you use the eidetic app or website. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. Questions can be sent to brandon@paperplanes.digital.
You must be an adult with the authority to manage the household information you provide. The service is intended for personal household organization. Availability and features may vary by beta build, device, and location.
Your account and household
Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in provider and device secure, and let us know about unauthorized access. You are responsible for the information you choose to upload and the actions you confirm.
Only provide documents, child information, and other household data you are legally entitled to share and process. Do not upload someone else’s confidential records without authority. Consider the effect on other household members before changing or deleting shared information.
Your content and permitted use
You retain your rights in the content you provide. You give us permission to host, transmit, process, and display that content to you and authorized household members as needed to operate the features you request, including processing by the providers described in our privacy policy. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to necessary cleanup and retention described there.
Do not use eidetic to violate the law or others’ rights, upload unlawful or abusive content, interfere with the service, evade limits, attempt access to another household, or extract credentials. We may restrict misuse or suspend access where reasonably needed to protect the service and its users.
The eidetic software, name, and original site content remain the property of their respective rights holders. You receive permission to use the service for its intended purpose, not to resell access or represent yourself as its operator.
AI output requires your review
Memory Packets and suggestions are generated with AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Compare extracted dates, times, names, locations, links, and suggested actions with the original document. Make corrections before relying on them or saving an event.
Eidetic is an organizing aid. It is not a substitute for professional advice, an emergency service, or a guarantee that an appointment, deadline, or obligation will be remembered. You remain responsible for checking and acting on important information.
Permissions and connected services
Photo uploads require your selection and consent. Device-calendar writes require your confirmation and the relevant permission. The app uses third-party services, including sign-in providers, Supabase, and OpenAI; their services and applicable terms remain outside our control.
Calendar events already saved on your device remain after deletion of a packet or account. Confirm that an event does not already exist before seeking recovery of an interrupted calendar save.
Beta availability and charges
The current beta offers manual photo selection with usage allowances. Paid subscriptions, automatic background photo intake, and push notifications are not offered in this beta. We may change features, limits, or availability as testing continues. A beta can have interruptions, defects, or lost records; keep originals and independent copies of important information.
We will disclose pricing and any additional purchase terms before introducing paid features. These terms do not authorize an undisclosed charge or subscription.
Ending use and deleting data
You can stop using eidetic at any time and request deletion through the app or our account-deletion page. Deleting the app alone does not delete cloud records. Account and household deletion can remove shared records for other members. Data handling and retention follow the privacy policy.
We may suspend or end access for material misuse, security threats, legal requirements, or if the service is discontinued. Where appropriate and practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to recover supported records. Some restrictions may need to take effect immediately to protect users or comply with law.
Service limitations and your rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the beta is provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. We are not responsible for losses caused by relying on unchecked AI output or by events outside our reasonable control, to the extent the law allows that limitation.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory remedies available in your location. These terms do not require arbitration or waive a right that applicable law protects.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or legal requirements. The effective date identifies the current terms. If a material change requires new consent, we will request it as required. Contact us first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it.
